Lasertron (6 Hours of it!)

Date: November 22nd, 2004
Time: 1am - 7am (overnight)
Tickets: 221 Student Union
Price: $30 per person

The School of Informatics Spring 2004 Colloquium

Date: April 9th, 2004
Time: 3pm - 6pm
Location: 120 Clemens (tentative), UB North Campus

The "School of Informatics Spring Colloquium" is the first ever collaboration of the GSAs of the Communication, Informatics, and Library Science programs to sponsor and event in which graduate students are able to present papers or overviews of current research to interested faculty and students.

The Mark Diamond Research Fund

The Mark Diamond Research Fund (MDRF) is a component of the Graduate Student Association that provides financial support to expenses directly related to the collection of information for theses or dissertations. The deadline for the granting period is February 27, 2004. The granting period is from April 1, 2004 - March 31, 2005. The maximum grant for Doctoral research is $1,200.00, and for Master's research is $750.00. In addition, a grant writing workshop will be held on February 12, from 3-4 pm in Room 330 Student Union.

COMGSA Conference Funding Procedures

The COMGSA provides some conference funding for graduate students. This funding is limited to 6 persons who will receive $75.00 each. Only conference *presenters* will be eligible for this funding and will be required to submit the following documents:
(1) GSA Conference Grant Agreement form
(2) Encumbrance request form
(3) COMGSA minutes approval of funding
(4) Copy of the conference info, such as cover page of the program, location and schedule
(5) Copy of your presentation info listed in the program (date and title of the paper)
(6) Original receipt

All documents with the exception of #6 must be submitted to COMGSA *before* the conference. Your original receipt will be submitted after. Please contact COMGSA officers for forms or any questions regarding this matter.
