TURKISH PICNIC 2011
|
Turkish Graduate Student
Association has organized Annual Turkish picnic of Fall
2011 on September 10 Saturday.
Picnicking is a popular pastime in Turkey. The
country is full of specially designated 'picnic areas'.
In and around Alanya there are several along the sea and
further up into the Taurus Mountains. It's a wonderful
sight, especially on Sundays. Entire families and groups
of friends spend the day having barbecues and preparing
vegetables for salads. Whilst picnic may well refer to
eating in the open air, for many Turks eating is simply
a means to a more important end: being together with
friends and family.
